Hello and welcome back to on repeat.
on repeat
My on repeat track of the month is Olivia Barton’s song, Good Day. I found her music through the viral sensation ‘If I Were A Fish’ - the song she sings with Corook. When I first listened to Good Day it felt like Olivia was reading my mind - her music is incredibly relatable, catchy and genuine. I’m excited to hear more music from her soon and hopefully one day see her live. Click the image below to listen to this month’s onrepeat playlist.
Comment on this post to let me know what you’re listening to at the moment and I’ll add my favourite suggestions to next month’s playlist!
Rewind
Over the past month I’ve been putting time aside for making and planning my debut album. I’ve been making demos of the tracks, creating harmonies, planning music videos and am getting really excited about the project. I’ve sprinkled a few gigs in there too and went to a local open mic night too! I loved singing bvs and playing cello for Flo Perlin at Folk by the Oak - such a lovely festival and one where they really look after their artists. I’m also posting more on TikTok - follow me here if you’re also on TikTok!
Pause
Last week I went to a yoga class my friend Sophie was teaching. It was a yin yoga class, and such a great reminder to take things slow, to breath into the moment and to be curious about the body and the mind. It’s often an effort for me to take things slowly, but I’m always so grateful to myself when I do.
Three things I aim to practice in August are putting my phone out of sight whilst I’m working, meditating more regularly and taking time out for more yin yoga. I’ll report back next month…
Fast-forward
